Blast From The Past

On Thursday i sent me folks of to the airport.....the drive back usually takes bout 45minutes if you keep to the speed limits...being the law abiding citizen that i am, i decided to cruise at 80kmph ....10mins into the journey home and i was half asleep....so to keep meself awake, i turned up the radio to full blast....

flipping stations as i went along, i suddenly heard Pantera being played!...at that moment Dimebag D was unloading his unforgetable riff in one of heavy metal's most popular songs from the 90's... ...."Cemetary Gates!!"...the deejay went on to play Led Zeppellin, Yngwie Malmstein, Metallica and yes, even Steve Vai....if you drove past me on the expressway, you would have seen me head banging in the car...literally...i was smiling all the way home!

Man, those songs reminded me of my old school days when i was in a band...we used to hangout at the jam studio and play our favourite songs...we played everything from Smashing Pumpkins to Third Eye Blind to KoRn to Metallica to Deftones to Guns and Roses and even Chinese songs from Beyond!...what fond memories....i remember getting such a rush from playing KoRn's "Blind"..and A.D.I.D.A.S....i used to scream my head of in the studio....after each jam session, all of us would have been half deaf from the distortion and mic volume...we'd go back with sore throats and back pains from jumping around.... and then we'd do it again the next day....life was bliss then

Jam session anyone?
